How to cancel Disney+

Step-by-step

On the web (fastest):

1. Go to disneyplus.com and sign in.
2. Hover over your profile icon (top right) → Account.
3. Under Subscription, select your plan.
4. Select Cancel Subscription, then Complete Cancellation on the final screen.

A short optional survey may appear. You can skip it.

App differences: The Disney+ mobile app can start cancellation but finishes it in your mobile browser; just use a browser from the start. You can't cancel on a Smart TV.

Billing-specific instructions:

• Billed through Apple: iPhone/iPad → Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Disney+ → Cancel Subscription.
• Billed through Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Disney+ → Cancel subscription.
• Billed through Roku or Amazon: Cancel in your Roku or Amazon account's subscription management.
• Billed through Verizon or another partner: Cancel through that partner.

The Bundle Problem (Read This Before You Cancel):

This is where Disney+ cancellations go wrong. Think in terms of what you want to keep:

• Want to drop Disney+ but keep Hulu: Don't just hit cancel on everything. Your bundle is billed by one provider; canceling the bundle ends both. Check who bills you (Account page shows this), then set up standalone Hulu through whoever will bill it going forward before or immediately after canceling the bundle.
• Want to drop Hulu but keep Disney+: On the web, go to Account → Change Plan and switch to a Disney+ plan without Hulu, rather than canceling.
• Want to drop the whole bundle: Cancel Subscription as above. Everything ends at the close of the billing period.

Disney occasionally offers a discounted rate to bundle subscribers who start canceling. No public details; treat any offer as a limited-time deal, not a permanent price.

Traps to expect

• Canceling the bundle to "just drop one service" ends both. Use Change Plan or set up the standalone service first.
• Annual plans: You keep access until the renewal date, but Disney doesn't refund the unused months.
• The ESPN Select tangle: If your bundle includes ESPN Select (formerly ESPN+), canceling the bundle ends it too. ESPN Select standalone has its own subscription if you want to keep it.

Retention offers

Disney's save attempts are mild compared to some rivals:

• Discounted stay offer: Some users report a reduced-rate offer during cancellation. Verdict: worth a look if the price is genuinely lower and you'd keep watching anyway. Don't let a small discount talk you out of a break you planned.
• Switch to Duo Basic: The cheaper ad-supported bundle is pitched during cancellation. Verdict: only if you want both services. It's not a deal if it keeps you paying for something you'd rather pause.

After you cancel

• You keep watching until the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.
• Profiles and watchlists are expected to survive on your account for a future resubscribe, but Disney doesn't publish a retention window.
