How to cancel Philo
TL;DR
- Difficulty: 1/5
- Time estimate: 2 minutes
Step-by-step
On the web (if Philo bills you directly):
- Go to philo.com and sign in.
- Click your profile avatar → Account.
- Click Cancel my subscription.
- Click Complete cancellation to confirm.
You can confirm it worked on the same Account page: the Your Philo Subscription section shows the last day of your billing cycle.
Billing-specific instructions:
- Billed through Amazon: Amazon account → Memberships & Subscriptions → Philo → Turn off auto-renewal.
- Billed through Apple: iPhone/iPad → Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Philo → Cancel Subscription.
- Billed through Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Philo → Cancel subscription.
- Billed through Roku: Philo app → star button → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription.
- Billed through Samsung: Open Purchase History in your Samsung account, go to the Subscriptions tab, and click Unsubscribe.
- Billed through Vizio: Go to Subscriptions and Purchases in your Vizio account, click Cancel Subscription, then Update Subscription to confirm.
If there is no cancel button on your Philo Account page, a third party bills you, and Philo cannot cancel it for you. Cancel with whoever bills you.
Can you pause instead?
No. Philo has no pause option. Canceling and resubscribing later is the only way to stop billing for a while. Your account can be reactivated at any time.
Traps to expect
- No refunds. Philo's policy is no refunds for the current billing period. Canceling stops the next charge; it does not give money back.
- Add-ons ride along. If you cancel your Essential or Bundle+ base plan, add-on subscriptions (STARZ, MGM+, and similar) are canceled automatically. To drop just an add-on, use Account → Manage Add-ons instead.
- DVR recordings end with the subscription. Recordings are kept up to a year while you subscribe. Once your paid plan ends, you keep the free channels, not your paid library or its recordings.
Retention offers
Philo's cancellation flow is plain compared to most rivals: confirm the cancellation and you are done. The main pitch you may see is the free tier itself, since your account keeps access to Philo's free channels after the paid plan ends.
After you cancel
- You keep watching the paid channels until the end of the current billing cycle.
- After that, your account continues on the free channels at no cost.
- Profiles and preferences stay on the account, so resubscribing picks up where you left off.
Coming back
Resubscribe at philo.com whenever. Essential is $25/mo and Bundle+ is $33/mo as of October 2026. Subscribing through a device or app store can add a platform surcharge, so signing up on the web keeps the listed price.
Quick answers
Straight answers to the questions people actually ask.
How much is Philo now, and what happens after I cancel?
Philo costs $25/month for Essential or $33/month for Bundle+, verified October 16, 2026. Philo has no pause option, so canceling is the only way to stop billing; you keep the paid channels until the end of your billing cycle, then the account continues on the free channels, and you can resubscribe any time. The step-by-step above covers the cancel itself.
